Practical questions
An unresponsive adult in Dubai: call, CPR and AED help
If an adult is unresponsive and not breathing normally, call 998 in Dubai immediately and follow the emergency operator’s CPR instructions. Gasping is not normal breathing. Ask someone to bring an AED if one is nearby, and follow its prompts. Do not wait for a website, private clinic or home-visit response.

Check safety and involve emergency services
Approach only if it is safe. Tell the operator that the person is unresponsive and describe the breathing rather than assuming the person is asleep. Put the phone on speaker if possible so you can follow instructions while helping. This short article is not a replacement for a first-aid course or real-time dispatcher guidance.

Follow CPR and AED instructions promptly
The dispatcher can guide the immediate actions, including CPR when needed. An AED provides spoken or visual prompts; follow them and the operator’s instructions. If others are present, ask one person to fetch the device and another to help emergency crews find you. Do not leave the person to search the internet for a better checklist.

Practise preparedness before an emergency happens
For future readiness, take a recognised first-aid/CPR course, learn where AEDs are located and check your building’s access arrangements. A saved article or chat response is not a training certificate and should not be relied on as the only emergency plan. This page covers general adult information, not infant or child resuscitation instructions.
