Practical questions
Possible stroke in Dubai: use FAST and call 998
Sudden face weakness, arm weakness or speech changes can be signs of stroke. Call ambulance 998 in Dubai immediately if you suspect a stroke—even if symptoms begin to improve. This information site is not an ambulance dispatch service, and a general enquiry or home-doctor booking should not delay emergency care.

Use FAST as a prompt, not a complete checklist
FAST highlights Face, Arms, Speech and Time to call for help. Stroke can also cause other sudden changes, such as problems seeing or walking. Do not wait for every FAST sign to be present and do not use an online checklist to rule out a suspected emergency.

Tell the dispatcher when the person was last well
Give the exact location, access instructions and a callback number. Explain the symptoms, when they were first noticed and when the person was last known to be well, if you know. If they woke with symptoms, say so rather than guessing a start time. Follow the emergency operator’s instructions.

Do not turn improvement into a reason to cancel
Symptoms that disappear can still need urgent assessment. Keep emergency services informed if the person’s condition changes, and do not give food, drink or medicines unless the emergency team advises it. Do not drive the person yourself when an ambulance is needed. This brief guide is not a substitute for clinical assessment or certified first-aid training.
